Soul Heirs

Vintage Mardi Gras Beads

Working Hard To Get More Beads Up!

Mardi Gras Falls on February 20, 2007 “Throw me somethin’ Mista”! The screams from the crowds of the great parade—pleading for the beads.  Since 1699, Mardi Gras has come to New Orleans in celebration of Carnival.  Mardi Gras  or “Fat Tuesday” is 47 days from Easter Sunday. The Wednesday after Mardi Gras (Ash Wednesday in the Catholic religion, when revelers say “farewell to the flesh.”) leads into the period of Lent. (Click here for more history) Care of Beads: The following beads are between 75 - 85 years old. Most beads offered have the original string which is very fragile. I highly advise re-stringing with a thread suitable for glass beads. All beads should be resturng on occasion, no matter how old the strand. The Mardi Gras Beads pictured should be treated as antiques AND should buyer prefer to flaunt these flamboyant beauties, please, I cannot state this enough, restring - it is a simple procedure. In my quest to ensure customer satisfaction, should I find strands that appear to be too fragile, I will do my best to restring for future sale. Soul Heirs cannot accept responsiblity for breakage due the age of these beautiful beads. Just a final note, Soul Heirs was featured in the April 05 issue of Lucky Magazine. Note: These beads sell fast - thus all the "solds"!
