Hair Adornments
Hair has long been one of woman's greatest vanities. To enhance ones's locks, many elaborate ornaments were and still are crafted to celebrate this vanity. This category includes vintage and modern pieces, be it barrettes, bands, holders, pins, combs, and clips. Decorating the hair is a celebration of womanhood and it is my contention not to stereotype woman with her hair connection for femininities sake as it is my conviction that we girly girls can be intellectually and emotionally strong and "still" be feminine. There are those among us who unfortunately through aging, illness and genetics are not so blessed as to have our own hair or have thinning hair. One can still dress these locks for there is always an ornament just waiting for that special head. The next time you trim your hair, remember, not for vanities sake but to donate to a child or adult who is in need of hair prosthetics. It will bring much needed hope to those who are suffering from long-term medical hair loss. They too need their vanity. I have included a link for donating hair and funds. There are many such organizations on the world wide web.

Locks of Love A non-profit charitable organization that provides hairpieces for disadvantaged children under the age of 18.
