EARTH DAY - March 20, 2005

Living on planet Earth can be a great challenge, especially in the 21st century. Sometimes there are those among us who take the beauty of this marvelous planet for granted and all she has to offer. Remember that beauty does not come without the everyday practice of the trustees - that would be each and every human inhabitant on this planet. And yes, I suppose that means we must pull our share for our plants, animals, air, dirt and every thing else that comes with our planet. This must be a life long journey and awareness and instilled in our children as a learned behavior which starts with parents and mentors as good role models, for after all this will be their children's planet too. Pictured above is Trunk Bay located on the beautiful United States Virgin Island of St. John. I visit there each year and cherish the beauty - the motto there, carry in - carry out, take nothing! They too have their problems. The living coral is dying. Snorkelers, boaters, and swimmers often times step on the coral and I am sure for the most part accidentally. They just were not thinking of all the micro ecosystems being destroyed - a large food chain for other species. Luckily, approximately three quarters of St. John was declared a National Park giving it protection from development. Let's pray this does not change through the political winds of time. God Bless Our Home - Our Planet Earth! Following are some links about Earth Day.
