Pewter Lion Pendant

Presented is a large pewter lion pendant with an attached chain. This mighty lion has three sections that are attached by jump rings. The head, lower comb and fore/hind legs all hang by these rings giving the parts movement. This unmarked pendant dates from the 60's. Lion measure 3 1/2" in height by 2" in width. The chain is attached by two pewter loops on the back side to give an additional hang of 10", fitting a 20" neck. Links of the chain have a hammered look. There is a a spring ring clasp for closure. The comb (mane) work is very detailed with open metal work. The face and fore/hind legs are a gray mate finish. "Mighty Lion" is quite the eye catcher will make a great conversation piece as most unusual jewelry does. |
