Enameled Pill Box
Vintage unmarked square pill box of brass with faceted stones that sit on the surface of the box lid. The age of this box is unknown, perhaps 40's/50's. Color of enamel is aqua/green with brass speckles throughout. There are six small aqua rhinestones scattered about and three larger pear shaped faceted glass stones. The parameter of the the box top has a beaded border. The box lid has a push latch to launch the cover open. Inside, there are two triangular compartments separated by a brass spacer that when removed, allows the inside to be one compartment. The inside top and bottom surface has a swirling circular design pattern which reflects light in a rather interesting way. Each circle overlaps the other. This box measures 1 1/2" squared by 1/2" in depth. Overall condition excellent. There is one pinhead (less than) size ding on the right side bottom of this pill box. One would probably not notice this unless one was told. I examine all my pieces with a jeweler's loupe so anything I may notice I will inform the potential buyer. This case could be used for small treasures etc. |
