Filigree Brass and Limoge Cameo Perfume
This perfume holder only measures approximate 1 3/4" in height by 1 1/8 " in width. It is marked on the bottom but I am not familiar with this symbol/trademark. The bottle itself is crystal in color. It is entirely (rear and front) encased in ornate brass filigree work with an intersecting design. The encasement meets in the front with a brass beaded bezel. The bezel holds a porcelain hand painted cameo depicting a romantic scene mark Limoges at the bottom of the cameo. The cover of the bottle has the same filigree design with a red cabochon glass stone crowning the top. The age of this bottle is unknown - it appears to be quite old. This perfume bottle is in excellent condition except that the dauber and base hanging from the inside top has loosened from top. This will not come out - it is likely that the perfume (not present) loosened the glue underneath the dauber platform. This could be easily fixed with a dab of glue. It still works without it. There are no chips in the dauber. Such a lovely piece and would fit well in an evening purse to hold a favorite fragrance or love potion. |
